RackGenius started in 2020 as a Minecraft server run by two friends. Six years on we operate our own autonomous system, AS32002, out of two Michigan datacenters, and we still answer our own support tickets.

From a Minecraft server to our own network
- 2020
The Beginning
Started as a small-scale game hosting provider, aimed towards friends and family. Managed by Minecraft enthusiasts Ethan and Evan.
- 2021
Snakecraft Hosting Launch
Officially launched Snakecraft Hosting, focused on providing quality game server hosting solutions.
- 2023
Major Expansion
Launched our Ryzen and Value VPS offerings, marking a significant expansion in our service portfolio.
- 2025
Evolution to RackGenius
Rebranded to RackGenius, expanding our services to become a comprehensive hosting solutions provider while maintaining our core values.
- 2026
Detroit Expansion
Brought up 123Net DC1 in Detroit (DTW) as our primary site, directly connected to Grand Rapids at 123Net DC4. AS32002 now reaches both DET-IX and GRR-IX from either location, backed by Hurricane Electric, Cogent and 123Net. Colocation joined the product line the same year.
We run the network, not just the website
Plenty of hosts are a control panel in front of somebody else's hardware. We are not. RackGenius owns and announces its own IP space under AS32002, peers directly at DET-IX in Detroit and GRR-IX in Grand Rapids, and buys upstream transit from Hurricane Electric, Cogent and 123Net.
Our equipment lives in two directly connected facilities: 123Net DC1 in Detroit, our primary site, and 123Net DC4 in Grand Rapids. When something goes wrong with routing, it is our problem to fix, not a ticket we forward to a provider you never get to talk to.
We publish more than most hosts are comfortable with. Our hardware page lists the actual machines we run, node by node, straight from our own inventory rather than a marketing page of stock photos. If you want to know what you’re buying before you sign up, it’s all right there.
Support is email, ticket and phone, answered by the same small team that racks the servers. Every plan carries a 99.95% uptime SLA, and we put a share of what we earn back into The Genius Impact, our free hosting and scholarship programs.
